Don't miss the deadline

Happy Friday everyone! Have you heard the latest public announcement from Google? As we constantly keep our ears to the ground for the latest in design and web development news, we thought we would pass along the following, as it will have a huge impact for anyone who's website is not responsive.

"In a break from tradition, Google has announced that, from April 21st 2015, websites that are not responsive may appear lower in search results than those that are."

The first question you need to ask yourself is, "Is my website responsive?" If you find yourself wondering what that means - we will try our best to explain that for you...

"Responsive is an approach to web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones)."*

In essence, responsive web design is a modern style of online browsing and a style of website design that allows your desktop website to be equally as compatible and effective on tablet, mobile, and whatever other platform you may be viewing on. The system is built so that when a browser is 'squeezed' or 'shrunk' the site will re-format itself to house the content in a slightly more compact way. And so on until you reach the size of a mobile screen.

If we haven't made complete sense to you, you can read more on responsiveness by clicking here, here, and here. (Here here!)

This Google deadline of April 21st is an important deadline for websites to be designed and built to be responsive otherwise, as they say, you may be penalised in the form of poor position on Google search results. This could seriously harm your business.

Here at Attitude we design responsive as standard. Time may be running out, but we are here to help. Give us a call today or fill out our project planner and get your website started!
